The West Wind Pack

The battle was feirce, Arrow fought hard. He tried to keep his territory-and his pack-But the younger wolf was fresher and stronger. His moves were to quick for arrow, and for once arrow was beaten. Zephyr was about to do the death blow when Arrow scampred off. "Coward!" Zephyr howled after him.
For a while he fought off other challenging wolves, but then he started getting older, he wanted to settle down and have is own pack. He had chased off all of the old pack, wanting the land for himself. Thats when he met his beloved, cloud. Cloud was his and is his mate, one by one they made a pack. Finally it grew to be the strongest and largest pack. Which is now known for the west wind pack.

They were proud off all the fighters, hunters and protecters that there were. And they were proud of themselves, after all They had the most power, and the most land. Nothing could defeat them. NOTHING.

Cloud padded along through their pack, making sure everyone was doing what they shoud and there wasnt any trouble. Now you might think that to be easy but try doing that AND keep an eye on a large litter of rambunksious pups. She finaly let out a resigned sigh and gathered the pups up, placeing them in the den. "and STAY there till i come back, i dont want any of you running off and getting hurt!" she ordered them. Then she went back outside and sat at the mouth of the den and watched the otheres come and go. some dropping off fresh kill some lieing and chatting with one another, then she saw it, the figures of several other wolves walking along, she had never seen them before. She sniffed the air, the sent was not a familure one. She trotted over to Zephyr to notafy him of it.

Zephyr was already getting up, a couple of his best fighters assembled behind him with a flick of his tail. Hwaited for Cloud to come to his side so he could comfront these fools that dare try to go through his territory.

Cloud loped over to him then whirled around to face the direction of the intruders.She quickly glanced over towared the den to make sure the pups had done as they were told and stayed in the den. She had to look twice to be sure of what she saw. Chance was headed straight for the strangers! She ran forward to go grag him before they noticed.

Bronze was chasing after him, whinning like all pups do.

Cloud raced after the both of them as fast as her legs would carry her. She managed to scoop them both up in her powerfell jaws, but not without the intruder noticing. Seeing them she raced towared the den with the pups in her jaws, then she set them down and told them to stay put this time. She quickly raced back to Zephyrs side.

Zephyr glanced at cloud before he went foward, signaling quickly with his tail for his fighters to stay back. "I think you have mistaken this territory for a loners land." He growled.

Asha looked at them,unable to reply because she was carrying Koy in her jawls.She set Koy down between herself and Ripple and grumbled a reply,"yeah? whell we are just passing through here,so theres no need to get all upset."

Cloud saw Koy and relaxed,if they were carrying a pup with them they most defanetly wouldent risk geting into a fight.

Ripple nodded, stepping through from the back, passing artimes on the way. "Yes, we have no intentions on try-" SHe got cut off by Zephyr,
"Then get out!" He howled with frusteration at the group of loners "Get out before I send my fighters after you!" He howled again.
Ripple bristled, ready to fight back for the sake of finding her friends brother. "We just need to find our friends brother!" She yowled back.

Cloud glared at Zephyr and turned to Ripple an the others,"You realy sould go before he realy does try to get rid of you himself!" She warned them

Asha nodded aknoledgement then scooped Koy up then trotted off with the others following her.

As much as he wanted to follow he respected his mates wishes and stayed back.

"mommy?" Toloe asked cloud "Why are those guys in our camp?"

Cloud looked at Toloe and said, "cause they wanna eat any missbehaveing pups." Chance stared at her wide eyed,"REALY!?" he asked cloud looked at them a second and replyed"maby,not if your good."

"So you should behave for your mother." Storm told them as he trotted back in from the fresh kill pile.
" You look exhausted Cloud, you should go to sleep, I will take care of them until you wake up."

"okay, thanks." she told Storm and trotted towared her nest she had made.

A alarm sound from Warrior who was on guard duty, "We have a lone bear!" The bear was charging toward the pups, Storm howled and lunged at the bear. Snarling.

Cloud lept up instantly,she was most defanetly not too tired to defend her pups. She gave a war cry and raced to the front of the cave,poised for battle.

Epona charged at the bear with Jamaka and laya comeing from eather side.then they had it cornered.They all attacked it simaltaniously,scratching and clawing at it.Laya lept onto its back and had a death grip on its ears. as it flailed around,trying to get her off jamaka started biting its feet

Cloud joined in and lept for its throat,hoping that she would deliver the killing blow.

Storm was deep in battle and Warrior lept in. But the bear was to strong.

Cloud clawed and scratched the bear in a flurry, her rage deep as she gave her all to defend her pups from this huge menace. She bit it and scratched it till she made it cry out with pain as she sunk her fangs into its leg. She had a death grip on it as it flailed around,trying to get her off.

Epona lept at iits head and bit into its large face,holding on for dear life.

Jamaka followed Clouds lead and bit into its othe leg. Laya copyed them and they all held on.

With rage the bear flung off the wolf that was biting his head, then with his head freed he sunk his teeth into Laya. Flinging her off he was able to manage to say something "I need to talk!" Was his muffled deep voice.
Zephyr was racing over when he heard this. He gave one howl and that was backed up with a growl as a signal to stop. "Let him speak." Zephyr rumbled. His voice had authority daring the she wolves-even cloud- not to obey him. Storm stopped but still had his hackles raised as he went back to the pups who were terribly frightened.
Warrior resumed to his position a tail length behind Zephyr his hackles raised also.

Cloud backed off instantly, hearing the tone of her mates voice. She knew better that to challange him now. " What do you want?" She replied to the strange bear. This was something new; a bear that spoke wolf! She showed her own athourity in her voice.

Epona stared at the bear in wonder. How had he managed to come here? what did he need to say that was so important? She exchanged a glance with Cloud. Unfortanitly she saw her own suprise and wonderment reflected in her leaders gaze.


Jamaka and Laya were too stunned by this newest turn of events to even think straight!
